2005 News Releases "FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE" MOSAID Announces New Memory Test System at ITC Sixth generation test system expands capabilities and lowers cost OTTAWA, Ontario - November 8, 2005 - MOSAID Technologies Incorporated's Systems Division (TSX: MSD), today announced the availability of its latest memory test system, the MS5205, at the International Test Conference (ITC) in Austin, Texas. The MS5205 is MOSAID's sixth generation of automatic test equipment and is targeted at engineering test, analysis and bitmapping applications for semiconductor memories. The MS5205 addresses not only Flash and DRAM memories, but with expanded logic test capability, can test embedded memory and mixed memory/logic devices of many types. Semiconductor memory is utilized in virtually every digital electronics device including computers, video game consoles, cell phones, digital cameras, MP3 players, PDAs, and HDTV. "The MS5205 provides significant advantages over its predecessor, the MS4205, while continuing a tradition of providing increasing capability and productivity for our customers," said Glenn Evans, MOSAID Systems Division General Manager. "Fully configured, the MS5205 offers double the number of data I/O pins and address/clock pins at a significantly reduced cost per pin compared to the MS4205 - and adds logic vectors to every pin. Upward compatibility of programs and test fixtures means that customers can migrate their MS4205 programs and expertise directly to the MS5205 and quickly take advantage of the MS5205's expanded capabilities to address new tests and devices." Key MS5205 features include:
Utilizing the latest version of MOSAID's Tester Control Software (TCS 10) together with the patented Graphical Sequence Editor (GSE), the MS5205 system offers the latest in sophisticated and powerful capabilities while providing upward compatibility with older models. The new system is controlled by a dual-processor controller and offers the option of simultaneous bitmap and tester control displays with the use of two monitors. The selling price for the MS5205 ranges from US$350,000 to US$750,000 depending on configuration. First customer shipments are scheduled for January 2006. The MS5205 is being demonstrated at MOSAID's booth # 1602 at ITC in Austin, November 8-10, 2005. It will also be exhibited at SEMICON/Japan in early December.
