2005 News Releases "FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE" MOSAID Releases Test Control Software Version 8 Test Capacity for Memory Chips Doubles to 8 Gigabits OTTAWA, Ontario, Canada – March 31, 2005 - MOSAID Technologies Incorporated's Systems Division (TSX:MSD) today announced the availability of Test Control Software Version 8 (TCS 8) for its MS4205 family of memory test systems. TCS is the test program development and run-time software environment for MOSAID's MS4205 and MS4205ex test systems, which test semiconductor memories with data rates of up to 832 Mbps per pin. With TCS 8, tester bitmap capacity is doubled to 8 Gigabits as required by the latest high density NAND Flash chips being developed for media storage in products such as digital cameras and MP3 players. Mirroring the growth in Flash memory chip density, MOSAID has doubled its MS4205 tester's bitmap capacity three times within the last two years. TCS 8 also delivers a variety of new features that address the latest user requirements in flexibility and ease of use. New features include:
"The ultimate value we deliver to our customers is helping them to continually improve engineering productivity," says G. Glenn Evans, Senior Vice President and General Manager of MOSAID's Systems Division. "Enabling our customers to do more, in less time, for less money, directly and significantly impacts their potential for technical and business success." TCS 8 enables users to capture, display and analyze bit-maps for memory chips up to 8 Gigabits in density - the largest monolithic memory chips currently available. Users can also purchase an offline TCS license that allows them to operate TCS on a stand-alone PC for program development or data analysis without tying up tester resources. MOSAID's MS4205 engineering testers help manufacturers minimize time to market and maximize the yield of their semiconductor products, including high-speed DRAM and Flash memories. MOSAID's customers include semiconductor manufacturers and foundries around the globe. About MOSAID Founded in 1975, MOSAID is based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, with offices in Santa Clara, California; Newcastle upon Tyne, U.K; and Tokyo, Japan.
