MOSAID Releases Test Control Software Upgrade for MS4205 Test Systems

Enhances Test Capacity for Memory Chips Up to 4 Gigabits

OTTAWA, Ontario, Canada – June 8, 2004 – MOSAID Technologies Incorporated's Systems Division (TSX:MSD) today announced the availability of the latest Test Control Software (TCS 6.0) for its MS4205 family of memory test systems.

TCS is embedded within MOSAID's MS4205 and MS4205ex test systems which run at speeds up to 832 Mbps. TCS 6.0 enables users to capture, display and analyze bit-maps for memory chips up to 4 Gigabits in capacity – the largest monolithic memory chips currently available. Users can also purchase an offline TCS license that allows them to execute TCS on a stand-alone PC for program development or data analysis without tying up tester resources.

TCS 6.0 supports full speed, real-time capture of bit-map data during the testing of a memory chip on any MOSAID MS4205 family test system. A specially designed, lossless compression algorithm is used to efficiently store the captured bit-map in a sophisticated database. Bitmaps can be reviewed and analyzed with a powerful set of real-time interactive tools designed to maximize engineering productivity in identifying memory device failure mechanisms.

MOSAID has designed its family of MS4205 engineering testers to help manufacturers minimize time to market and maximize the yield of their semiconductor products including high-speed DRAM and Flash memories. The latest tester, the MS4205ex system, offers test speed scalability up to 832 Mbps and 36 data I/O channels aimed at meeting QDR and DDR test requirements. MOSAID's customers include the largest semiconductor manufacturers and foundries around the globe. MOSAID will be demonstrating TCS 6.0 and the MS4205 test system at SEMICON West 2004 in San Jose, California, July 14-16, 2004.
