MOSAID Launches the MS4205ex

Systems Division Introduces Fifth Generation high performance Memory Test System

OTTAWA, Ontario, Canada – July 15, 2002 – MOSAID Technologies Incorporated's Systems Division (TSE:MSD) today launched the MS4205ex General Purpose Memory Test System. The MS4205ex is being demonstrated this week at Semicon West 2002 (Booth #9606) in San Jose, California.

The MS4205ex is designed to meet the industry's increasing demands for engineering test and analysis of high-speed memories. The system offers test speed scalability up to 416 MHz/832 Mbps and Data I/O widths of 18 or 36 channels aimed at meeting QDR and DDR test requirements.

"With continued advances in memory technology and the cost sensitive nature of memory test, the MS4205ex is a highly accurate and cost-effective test solution," said Glenn Evans, General Manager of MOSAID Systems. "Our initial customer feedback shows that the MS4205ex is the right combination of hardware performance and software functionality at the right price, reflecting MOSAID's commitment to developing products that meet the industry's needs."

The MS4205ex provides users with time saving features aimed at enhancing user productivity and increasing test engineering efficiency:

  • The Graphical Sequence Editor (GSE) permits users to rapidly create and modify test patterns for any type of memory using simple Windows-based tools and facilities, greatly reducing development time and commensurately increasing tester and engineering availability to work on actual device issues.

  • The Bitmap capture feature allows bitmaps to be captured at maximum tester speed into a compressed database. Bitmaps can then be reviewed with a powerful set of real-time analysis tools, reducing the time needed to generate these views to a few seconds.

The MS4205ex is a small footprint, laboratory-sized test system comprised of a tester cabinet with a small, lightweight remote test head, and a Microsoft® Windows based PC System Controller.

Based upon configuration, the MS4205ex ranges in price from US$450,000 to US$750,000 with a typical delivery time of 12 weeks.

Glenn Evans, General Manager of the MOSAID Systems Division will be available to brief media and analysts, and provide demonstrations of the MS4205ex, testing DDR SDRAM and QDR SRAM devices at Semicon/West 2002, in San Jose, California.
