MOSAID Appoints Lluis Paris as General Manager of Semiconductor Division

After Serving as Acting General Manager and VP of Engineering

OTTAWA, Ontario, Canada – May 16, 2002 – MOSAID Technologies Incorporated (TSE: MSD) today announced that Lluis Paris has been appointed as General Manager of its Semiconductor Division.

"Mr. Paris has played an instrumental role in the transition of MOSAID's Semiconductor Division from our design licensing legacy to the current fabless business," said George Cwynar, President and CEO of MOSAID. "Most recently, he has led the Division during the launch of our 9 Meg content addressable memory (CAM) chip, the DC9288, the first member of our family of classification chips for the networking market."

Since joining MOSAID in June of 1997 as Manager, IC Design, Mr. Paris has held critical roles of increasing responsibility in the company's Semiconductor Division, spanning engineering, marketing and intellectual property functions. Prior to MOSAID, he was Director of Telecommunications in the Spanish National Center for Microelectronics. Mr. Paris holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Autonomous University of Barcelona in Spain.
