Core Wireless Licensing Ltd. has an immediate requirement for a senior professional to fill the role of Patent Attorney in our Plano, Texas office.
Job Purpose and Mandate:
The Patent Attorney's mandate is to actively participate in the process of creating a strong patent portfolio for Core Wireless Licensing Ltd.
Duties:
- Drafting originating patent application for inventions generated within the company.
- Preparing originating responses to office actions for patent applications.

Preparing continuation, continuation-in-part, divisional or re-issue applications in-house, and assisting external attorneys or patent agents with preparing and filing continuation, continuation-in-part, divisional or
re-issue applications as required.
- Reviewing and adapting patent applications drafted by external attorneys or patent agents to conform with the best practices of the company.

Preparing, reviewing and adapting responses to Office Actions prepared by external attorneys or patent agents to conform with the best practices of the company.

Conducting invention disclosure interviews to identify new patentable ideas, reviewing technical functional specifications, publications, presentations and other written materials for the purpose of identifying inventions.
monitoring and pro-actively obtaining missing materials that are required for the timely completion of invention disclosure forms, reviewing incoming invention disclosures, and conducting prior art searches.
- Participating in the patent portfolio mining sessions for the purpose of categorizing and ranking the portfolio for potential use in the industry.
- Assisting in patent licensing, acquisitions and litigation support as required.
Job Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Member of the Patent Bar
- Registered to practice in front of the USPTO
- 2 - 3 years of related industry experience specifically in the telecommunications area with technologies such as 3G, 4G, LTE, WiFi, WiMax, 1G, 10G, 40G Ethernet, Sonet, PON
- 5 years of US patent prosecution experience
- Excellent written & verbal communications
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team and individually
- Well organized with the ability to multi-task several projects.
