MOSAID Technologies Inc. has a requirement for an experienced and self-motivated professional to fill the role of Patent Engineer/Agent, Licensing Support.

Job Purpose and Mandate:

The Patent Engineer/Agent, Licensing Support's role is to assist in the strengthening and expansion of the applicability of MOSAID's patent portfolio in current and new industry segments, using MOSAID's internally generated and acquired patents. The Patent Engineer/Agent's mandate is to explore and identify infringement of these patents by technologies, products and services. This mandate also includes identification of new key patent families within our portfolio and working with the design analysis group and reverse engineering subcontractors in documenting potential infringement on products which infringe these patents.

Duties:

• Providing technical and expert opinion with respect to enforcing intellectual property rights in supporting licensing activities, patent litigation activities, and patent acquisition activities
• Providing patent legal opinion in support of patent litigation and patent acquisition activities
• Preparing detailed analysis of rebuttals to provide support for our responses
• Identifying new key patents within MOSAID's internally generated portfolio as well as acquired patents for infringement documentation
• Working with internal as well as external design analysis and reverse engineering teams in documenting infringement of any patent families identified

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering and a minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience
• Professional work experience in patent law
• Experience with patent prosecution
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills - both written and spoken
• Ability to work effectively as a team member
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Self-motivated
• Must be well-organized and be able to handle several projects simultaneously

Job Assets:

• Experience as an engineer in the telecommunications industry
• Experience with patent portfolio development techniques such as US continuation and re-issue practice
• Experience with reverse engineering or overseeing reverse engineering work
• Registered Patent Agent
